"How can the workshop be used effectively to create a presentation quality model?"
This project was based around developing workshop skills by replicating an existing product. A scaled down model of the Prouvé chair designed by Jean Prouvé was created using metal and wood.
The seat and back of the chair was created by laminating wood using a mould and vacuum forming machine. The legs were made by brazing metal poles together then the legs and wooden structure were primed, and spray painted. The final assembly was achieved by using strong adhesive to securely fasten the wooden and metal structure to the laminated wooden seat and back.
